  • Dorothy Cronin

    Instructor

When I was first introduced to Pilates, it inexplicably made sense. The practice put me deeply into my body and out of my head; exactly what I needed. Each breath, movement and session didn’t have to be perfect. It felt good right then and there and that was enough. I didn’t have to wait around for results but results came and keep coming. Pilates is different than other exercises in that it focuses on functional movement but with both coordination and control. Basically, quality of movement versus quantity. I completed a Pilates Apprenticeship program in Northern California in 2015, and then became nationally certified through the Pilates Method Alliance. I am currently working on a second certification with Balanced Body. There is so much involved in being a great instructor and I am very lucky to have learned from a diverse group of incredible mentors. I consider myself well versed in both classic and contemporary styles. I really enjoy working with clients of all different levels, restrictions, age and experience; from athletes to seniors. I am honest in my approach and don't promise quick fixes. I respect the work and introduce exercises when clients are ready. Whether your goal is injury prevention, building strength or simply to become more comfortable in your body, I am confident that my experience has prepared me to support you in the best way possible.
